Start Reporo, from the home page select "Instant Messaging". If you have not logged in to any instant messaging accounts, the main page will have a link called "Chat Accounts and Settings". There is also a menu option called "Chat Settings" on all instant messaging pages.
Select either of these to enter the account manager where you can add, modify or delete your accounts. You can set up one account for each supported instant messaging network.
From the home page select "Instant Messaging". To manually sign in, select "Chat Accounts and Settings" and then "Sign In".
Enter the accounts manager, select "Modify" under the account you want to auto-connect when you start Reporo. Set the "Autoconnect" option to "Yes" and select "Submit" to save your changes.
The tabs represent the services you currently have open. By pressing left and right on the navigation joystick, you can jump between these services. Each time you move between services the tabs will appear to show what else is currently open.
This indicates that your phone is in the process of receiving or sending data.
Your online contacts are immediately displayed when you open the "Instant Messenger" page. You can return to this page at any time by selecting "Online Contacts" from the options menu.
You can send Instant Messages to anyone in your "Online Contacts". Just scroll down to highlight the name of the person you want to message and select it. This will open a new window to begin chatting with that person.
Reporo supports MSN Messenger, Yahoo Instant Messenger, ICQ, AOL Instant Messenger and Google Talk.
Add any new contacts as you normally would using your PC and messenger. Subsequently any new contacts you add will be displayed on the Reporo service.
Online contacts are displayed with a green dot next to their name. Contacts that have mark their status as "away" are marked with a grey dot. If the contact's status is set to something more specific, a message may be displayed after their name in the list.
Whilst on a conversation page, select "Who's Here/Private Chat" from the options menu.
When you are logged into Reporo your status will show up as "online". Once you exit the Reporo application, or log out of that IM network, your status will show up as "offline". These are the only two statuses that are allowed on Reporo.
If your messenger account is any of the above then your username is the text up to but not including @. An example would be name@yahoo.co.uk where your username would be "name".
You get to choose your screen name as part of your Reporo registration. You can then choose to change it from "Edit Message Settings". This screen name is only used when you send text or picture messages or enter a chat room. In instant messaging, your usual screen name will appear as set on each network.
By moving the navigation joystick on your keypad to the right, you will move onto the next conversation. Moving the navigations joystick to the left will take you back to the previous conversation.
When in a conversation, select "Invite" from the options menu and select a contact to invite into the conversation. The name of the person that you've added to the conversation will show up on the title bar at the top of your screen. When the contact has joined a message will be displayed "--- has joined the conversation. Conference has been initiated".
Your phone will display as message that "You have been logged out of your messenger".
The "Contacts List" on Reporo is a live list and is constantly being updated with your contacts either coming online or going offline.
Your phone will vibrate and display the following message to alert you that you have a new message "New message from ---. Push right to view".
Go to options and chose "Close Conversation".
